An ex-fashion model of the top class who was 5'10'' in height, Carey was popular with top American designers such as Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. In 1979 the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists elected her dad Scientist of The Year. Carey traveled all over because of her father's work. While she was at the University of Colorado at part-time and was able to catch the attention of a Ford model Agency representative in New York. After moving to France, where she briefly lived between Paris, Bordeaux and New York and then New York, she made the decision that she would return in New York and continue her training. Then, Vogue, Glamour and various other magazines included her on the covers. In between her modeling assignments she was a full time student, completing a master's degree in literary studies at New York University. In time, she began to become interested in acting and studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York. Her debut as an actor was a role with Robin Williams in the 1986 film "Club Pardise. In her spare time she loves skiing or windsurfing. She also enjoys climbing mountains and whitewater river rafting.
