Awkwafina
Awkwafina is an American singer and performer who began her career with clever rappers, which explored issues of race and sexual identities from an edgy and humorous perspective. She then expanded to Hollywood. She was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean parents who immigrated to Forest Hills Queens her first experience with music came in the form of the trumpet. In the following years, she took up the classical and hip-hop genres. In college she focused on studies, concentrating in both journalism and women's issues. While spending a few days of time in Beijing She also studied Mandarin. It wasn't until she began focusing in music until she finished her degree. Her track My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity through the Internet during 2012. It eventually made it on her debut album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. The album also featured viral hits like the body-positive Queef as well as the wink-inducing hometown tour NYC Bitche$1. The track also appeared in the Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was published in the year 2015. Following her success as a performer and author who wrote books, she took on the role of actor. She's appeared in movies like Neighbors 2, Storks and Bad Rap. In 2018 she scored breakout role in a few notable films, including Dude Ocean's 8.8 and Crazy Rich Asians. She released the EP, In Fina We Trust in June of that year.
